I chose this course because it offers a balance of business and technology subjects. I was interested in computers but I didn’t want to do a straight computer course. I researched the course and I decided it was perfect for me. It had the business side and the technology side.
In business, we do Economics, Accounting, and Business Organisation and Management while on the technology side we do web development, database systems and computer programming. We also learn how to connect the two, how to make the two work together. We learn how to use technology in a business environment.

We have a work placement in third year for 8 months where we actually go into industry and put what we’ve learnt in class into proper use. In January, I’m going into Intel in Dublin and it will be a fantastic opportunity for me to use what I have actually learned. Hopefully it can then lead to future employment or something like this because sometimes with the Professional Experience Programme the company often decides if they would like you for future employment.

We have very small class, very personal.everyone knows each other really well. We are all friends as well as classmates. We go out together, we do stuff together. Our lecturers all know us by name, it’s that small a course. We work on project teams, we learn how to work with each other and how to sort out our differences and to see things from other people’s perspectives.
