Industry alliances

The BIS group are very proactive in maintaining contacts with industry and integrating these with the programme through guest lectures, seminars, field trips, work placement and the industry advisory board. In addition, the degree significantly benefits from NUI Galway's membership of the SAP and Microsoft University Alliance Programmes. 

University Alliance Programmes

A number of large corporations host University alliance programmes in order to forge greater links between academia and industry. These are formal bilateral agreements between the University and the company. Typically, these programmes offers students access to leading edge software, training materials and certification.  

• Microsoft
  • As a BIS student you will have access to wide range of the latest technologies developed by Microsoft. In addition, you will have the opportunity to avail of free training toward Microsoft certification.
    
• SAP
  • The BIS Group initiated the establishment of the SAP UA at NUI Galway. Membership of this alliance provides BIS lectures with access to the industry leading SAP suit of business software and training materials for use in their lectures. At present a number of the BIS Group are engage in extensive SAP training and certification, and planned future developments will see the introduction of an SAP based module in the degree.
  
  

At present, the economic climate is presenting very challenging circumstances for recent graduates in their search for employment.
