When I completed this course, it really brought me from one dimension of education and opportunity into many dimensions. It opened up opportunities for me that I didn't even know existed at the time, that really only materialised after many years.

During the course, the subjects were many and varied and some of them at the time - the significance of them didn't strike me, while they were wonderful to provide the basics, the vocabulary. But it was only in later years as I moved into management roles that the significance and the use of those subjects really came into their own and proved invaluable.

Yes, the course has been a fantastic vehicle that has brought me to many destinations.

I did a primary degree here in NUI Galway in Commerce. From there, I wanted to combine my business qualifications with areas of a more technical nature.

I researched a lot of courses. I found that the MBS in E-Commerce here in Galway offered me a lot of choices when I graduated. For this reason I found it to be very suitable. It gave me an excellent, rounded degree. It turned out a very good choice for me.

What Des Flanagan has to say about the work placement on the MBS in E-Commerce

Second year of the MBS in E-Commerce consists of work placement. I was lucky in that I got work with a multinational technology company. That has worked out very well for me in that I have now secured a more permanent position. I am doing a lot of work with the various skills that I learned during the MBS in E-Commerce. It was beacuse of the skills I picked up in the MBS that allowed me to first of all get this placement position and as I said, I am now working permanently with them.
